About Matrix Concrete

Matrix Concrete Products Limited was formed in 2011 by Louis Williams. Louis Williams is an Engineer who built many major bridges, railways, docks, warehouses, factories, and even schools in every parish. The reason for the construction of the matrix quarry is that during his time in construction he had noticed that the price of the material (washed sand, crushed stone, river-shingle) was always expensive and sometimes had long waiting times which slowed up his construction projects. He had applied for a mining license back in 2010 at Mines and Geology and was granted the license in 2011. 

A river runs through a farm he has in Red Ground Old Harbour, and he thought it would be a good location since it is nearby the town itself. He then acquired a bulldozer, two front end-loaders, an excavator, and two Mack trucks to move the material from the riverbed. He then had invested in the following: a 12-inch rock jaw crusher, a three-level vibrating screen, a sand screw, a cone crusher, a fair-banks certified 100-ton truck scale, a 12v71 Detroit diesel, and some refurbished conveyors out of Miami. Within three months the plant was operational producing 350 tons of finished product every 6hrs with 7 workers. The quarry was in production for four years supplying quality washed sand, crushed stone (3/8s & 5/8s), river shingle, and sieved sand. Due to new business ventures such as starting to manufacture Ajax bleach in late 2014 and other chemical manufacturing businesses he could not focus enough on everything and decided it was best to close the quarry down for some time. 

In 2021 he had given his son Max Williams the opportunity to run the business and oversee the farm and the quarry. Since then, the quarry has been restored and has been under new management. The quarry now produces at least 600 tons per 8-hour shift with just three workers.
